Methods to Repair Wheel Deformation
- Inspection of deformed parts. First find the deformed parts of the hub, install the hub on the fixture, and use the calibration dial to find the deformed parts for correction;
- Heating. The deformed part is locally heated by a gas furnace, and the red spot on the wheel hub is an infrared thermometer, which can be stopped when it reaches a certain temperature;
- Calibration. After reaching a certain temperature, the hub becomes loose, and small and medium-sized hydraulic jacks are used for continuous light calibration. Finally, effective norms are realized;
- Note. If the hub rib plate (upper and lower hem) is seriously deformed, it is not recommended to repair it, but to replace it.
There are many factors that affect the repair price of automobile rim deformation, such as the degree of wheel hub deformation, wheel hub materials, etc. There are three kinds of wheel hub materials: electroplated wheel hub, brushed metal wheel hub, and painted wheel hub. It is likely that the prices of different repair shops in different places are different.
If the hub is only slightly damaged, use the hub for sandblasting. Before repair, the wheel hub surface needs to be roughly polished. Sandblasting can not only remove the dirt on the wheel hub surface but also protect the wheel hub to a certain extent and enhance its adhesion. Some shallow scratches are generally repaired with sandpaper, which is troublesome. In addition, it is necessary to control the sandpaper grinding force, which should not be too light or too heavy.
